What we collect

In the course of advising employers on group benefits and retirement plans, we may collect personal information about plan sponsors, plan administrators, and plan members, including names, contact details, dates of birth, employment information, salary and class information, dependent information, and, where required for underwriting or claims support, health-related information. We collect only what is needed to arrange, place, and service insurance and retirement plans on your behalf.

Through this website, we collect only the information you choose to send us through the contact form or booking link (name, email, company, and message).

Why we collect it

We use personal information to obtain quotes and place coverage with insurers, to enrol and administer plan members, to assist with claims and service issues, to prepare renewal and plan reviews, to meet our regulatory obligations to the Insurance Council of British Columbia, and to communicate with you about your plan.

Consent

By providing personal information to us, or by authorizing your employer or plan administrator to do so, you consent to its collection, use, and disclosure for the purposes described here. Where we need information for a new purpose, we will ask for your consent first. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice; withdrawing consent may affect our ability to service your plan.

Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only to the parties needed to arrange and service your plan: insurance carriers and their underwriters, third-party administrators and claims adjudicators, and, where a plan member requests it, the member's own advisors. We do not sell personal information. We may also disclose information where required by law or by the Insurance Council of British Columbia.

How we protect it

Personal information is stored in access-controlled systems and transmitted to insurers through secure channels. Only Tenet's licensed personnel have access to client files. We retain information for as long as needed to service your plan and to meet regulatory record-keeping requirements, after which it is securely destroyed.

Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask how it has been used or disclosed. Requests can be made to the Privacy Officer below. We will respond within 30 days.
